Step aboard the USS Edson (DD-946) — a Vietnam-era Forrest Sherman-class destroyer and National Historic Landmark. Known as the "Grey Ghost of the Vietnamese Coast," she earned that nickname in 1967 when she took enemy fire, disappeared behind a smoke screen, and the North Vietnamese believed she had sunk — only to reappear weeks later.
Commissioned in 1958 and decommissioned after 30 years of service, the Edson completed 10 Vietnam deployments and is one of only two surviving unmodified ships of her class in the US. Guests can self-tour approximately 90% of the ship.
